Abstract

This research discusses the role of work motivation and incentives in enhancing employee performance at KSPPS "BMT Bina Insan Sejahtera Syariah" from the perspective of Islamic Economics. Work motivation and incentives are important factors in improving employee performance at an institution, especially in sharia microfinance institutions like KSPPS "BMT Bina Insan Sejahtera Syariah". Employees are at the forefront of providing services to customers, while also representing the image and internal quality of the institution itself. This research aims: 1) To determine the work motivation and incentives at KSPPS "BMT Bina Insan Sejahtera Syariah"; 2) To assess employee performance at KSPPS "BMT Bina Insan Sejahtera Syariah"; 3) To identify the work motivation and incentives provided by KSPPS "BMT Bina Insan Sejahtera Syariah"; 4) To understand how work motivation and incentives play a role in improving employee performance at KSPPS "BMT Bina Insan Sejahtera Syariah" from the perspective of Islamic Economics. The type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include literature review, interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the dominant forms of motivation provided are verbal and non-material, such as praise and additional responsibilities. Meanwhile, material incentives such as bonuses have not yet been applied consistently. Although these efforts have a positive impact, the results are not yet significant in improving overall performance. There are obstacles in the consistency of incentive provision and a lack of adjustment to the actual needs of employees, both professionally and spiritually.
