Scarcity is a central issue in economics which focuses on the limited resources available compared to unlimited human needs and desires. This problem forces individuals, companies, and governments to make choices about how limited resources can be allocated efficiently. Scarcity gives rise to the concept of opportunity cost, which is the value of the best alternative that must be given up when a choice is made. The goal of research on scarcity in economics is to understand and address how resource limitations influence individual choices and collective decisions. This research uses the method. This research uses library data collection method, or research in which the research object is explored through a variety of library information (books, encyclopedias, scientific journals, newspapers, magazines and documents) to obtain information regarding the background of the problem. Discussions about scarcity in economics focus on analyzing how limited resources can be used to satisfy unlimited human needs and wants. This discussion covers the meaning of scarcity, scarcity theory, types of scarcity, and causes of scarcity. By discussing these various aspects, economics can offer solutions to manage resources more effectively and improve people's quality of life.
